Hi Bill
I have a couple of friends who work there one who is a MP and in charge of ANG security for the base ,I can ask him. Joel I am sure has a lot of contacts too and most likely he will have an answer or no were to find it , when it comes to Dow AFB Joel he da' man
That will not be as easy as said. The ANG was not part of the USAF. They are not into that.
There is one person who may have photos, but he is in the business of selling what he has gathered, and rightfully so. It has cost him considerably. Library has nothing, been there done that for 45 years, and some locals have stolen the material the base turned over.
I have a few ways of getting information from men who served there.
We were at the main gate from 47-57, and I have good memory. No one ever took pics of trucks for future collectors, any photos showing that are by chance. The units that would of had CCKW tanker up thru 53 are all gone, and their associans have few aircraft pics.
Dave Menard , M-Sgt USAF retired was Archivist at USAF Museum, they have thousands of pics, from AF Bases, but it costs to research them.
I am familiar with most units at Dow, post war.
Been there done that, and those who can help are disappearing fast.
