A rememberance

This event was one of the most rewarding of the years I have displayed HMV's . As we were getting ready to leave the Randolph AFB show in November, I was sitting in old Betty Boop, her engine idleing when a woman with a young girl approached me an asked if this was a WWII 2 1/2 ton truck. I answered in the affermative and she got real excited. According to the lady, her father drove a Jimmy during WWII. She had on a tee shirt that had his photo in his uniform on it. She took lots of photos of the truck both in the cab and the outside of the truck. What was exciting to her was hearing it run. As she exclaimed, " it's alive." As she explained , her father had talked about these trucks all of her life and he had just died last year.
Keeping history alive for others is the reason for the busted knuckles and long hours spent on these old beauties.

Bill, please start a "pin up" section with close ups of CCKW owners seated behind the wheel.
It would be nice to meet all of the assorted characters, and give your truck a personality.
