Here's an interesting site with some original WW2 photo's. Check out the TRUCKS link.
Anyone have any thoughts on the Trucks, page 2, last picture, showing discs on the cargo rail.

Very interesting Combat Engineer stuff. The first page also has a photo with two trucks that both have the extra racks on the sides.
My guess is these are mines, but I can't identify the type or model. The side racks on half tracks were intended for the same purpose. I've never seen this on dump trucks but being combat engineers in a forward area, they could have carried mines, ready to deploy this way.
One caption indicates they were overrun by German tanks in one battle. If they are mines, and they look like the size and shape of a US M15 Antitank Mine, they may have made the modification to have them ready to block advancing enemy armor the next time.
Just my thoughts. You guys know I like the engineer stuff. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for your thoughts on that Cat Man. I guess in this game you never say never. Mines on a GMC cargo rail is not something I've seen before, preferring to haul wooden shelter poles myself.
I guess it wont be long before we see this in WW2 re-enacting. I note Relics offers a variety of repro mines, but appears not to list the M14 or M15 USA patterns.
