Whats with the "dish" shape on the internal sides? Would this trailer infact be an M17 with the "cut outs" allowing room for the rear part of the Maxon .50 cals to swing round without hinderance?
Sure wish the trailer was here in the UK. Someone will get a good deal at that price.
We rescued the trailer below earlier this year from the scrap man. We're not too sure what model it is but we'll probably end up putting one of our maxons on it.

Can anyone confirm the model?
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick
I think the one you have pictured is an M7
There should be some stamped info on top of the hitch mount.
Weasel has an M7 same as the one pictured
There should also be mounts for the generator in the floor of the trailer as well.
Hope this helps

John,
are the mounts like the ones in the picture below? This is one of the pictures that the seller sent me. If the price stays low enough for me, I'm going to try to get them. I have been wanting one of these for awhile.

Hey Guys,
I got out the Korean era Directors trailer TM that I have.
DodgeNick your trailer matches the appearence of an M7 Fruehauf Gen trailer.
The Kalifornia one with the bulging sides matches the look of the M-7 Brill Gen Trailer. However the mount channels do not match the picture of the Gen trailer mounts. It is a Brill but could be for the Quad 50. I have never seen a trailer with those bulges. Bubbaized? Nice work on those though.

Start looking for a 302....
They weigh about 5,100 lbs empty
Then you put a Weasel or a ClarkAir dozer, or a genset or.... inside....
Oh you you will need a truck column mounted brake controller too to stop it. Make sure it has brake shoes and magnets. Some don't (they have been removed). Some are INOP.

Thanks guys,
I'll have a look to see if there is a stamp above the tow hitch. I know there is a number stamped on one of the towing arms but this appears to be a latter addition.
The runners/mounts inside the trailer have been removed but it is still possible to see where they were. The floor is pretty rotten in places so will need to be replaced.
I'll get some more photos taken in the next few days and post them as a new thread. The trailer is still loaded with the one jeep engined generator and spare generator at the moment so internal shots will be a bit restricted.
Nick - Good luck with the bid, I hope you get the trailers. Sent you a pm.
Cheers

Those are good looking trailers. Seems to be a lot of good stuff in California.

Congrats! or condolences.....
They are an interesting rig and if you have something to haul in them; genset, searchlight, weasel, dozer, 50 cal AA gun set etc, they make a nice addition to your CCKW. And you can always see them in your side mirror too because they are sooo wide
My searchlight trailer has one balance beam that has a slight bend in it. As I have no front landing gear, if you disconnect it from the truck, it will stay right there. It should flop right down on the ground because of the balance beam pivot. If I stand on the tongue, it will fall.
Let us know how you progress and take pix

Congrats Nick
Well now you have use for your brake controller
You know your 352 and that trailer with a quad 50 WOW what a sight
John
PS the mounts in the bottom of Weasel's M7 are not the same as the mounts pictured on the E Bay units although they are similar
