These trucks tend to run more than CCKW because of rarity. The running gear and suspensions more durable than CCKW, but parts are at a premium, you can name your price for them.

Still, if you are a Marine re-enacter or Marine collector, you need the International.

The Marines were supplied CCKW as well as the Navy in WWII and Korea. These were procured thru the department of the Navy. The TMs for these were the Army TM.

It was done two ways, they were procured by production contract, or drawn from Army storage.
The Data Plate will show the responsible Agency or "Supply arm Maintaining Vehicle." Not all are ordnance or Quartermaster Responsibility.

Stay tuned, you will be given the ingredients to make you an expert, it may take years.

One of the Military Fire Apparatus Books I have here has pictures of a CCKW 530 Fire Truck in Navy Service.

It is either at the Portsmouth (NH) Naval Shipyard or at the Fuel Depot in Casco Bay off Portland Maine (I forget the name of the Island right now)

Boy would I love to have that Fire Truck.

I will dig out and scan the picture.
