There are at least three Chevy 1-1/2 tons on e-bay right now, and they've not been butchered too badly:

The first one looks particularly nice, and mostly complete...

No matter where in the USofA they are, they all look identical inside the cab, wires dangling, make do heater, wear and tear, etc.. The key to a good Chev 4X4 is that the chassis is not cracked or broken ahead of the front axle, and cab is rebuildable shape. The rest of the truck, engine, axles, gearboxes, you can plan on reconditioning as they normally are well worn and need plenty of attention..

I sure hope there is one listed in Texas some day. It seems that all of the CCKW's and Chevy's are up north or in California.

The crack in the frame that happens to Chevys is under the front of the cab by the rear mount for the front axle spring. There are a series of rivets for the spring mount, cab mount, and motor mount too close together. They crack between them if the the truck has been abused

Hi Doc
Does this also apply to the vans or are they more likely to have had an easier life?
