A little off subject but I know a guy locally whose friend had a bomb truck. They were doing some cleanup around the ranch and they had no use for it and no one wanted it so they sent it off to the junk yard

. The guy I know was talking to his friend the other day and the friend was telling him about the truck and told him that he would have just given the truck to me if he had known that I am interested in militarty vehicles. The truck was supposedly in good running condition too. I'm guessing it was either a Chevy or a Ford Burma Jeep.

Don't that just piss you off...The same type of thing has happened to me....

Did you find the name of the junkyard. They probably have it sitting there waiting....you never know.

One of our board members is bidding on the fire truck...Hope he wins it.

The only thing not visibly original is the water tank. They were maximum 350 gallons when built. That tank is an 850. 850 gallons @ 8 pounds per gallon is a payload of 6800#'s on the chevy chassis on top of all the steel and equipment that is is hauling around.

Good thing is it comes with a parts truck.

The truck went to a scrapyard called Levi's Iron and Metal company and is supposedly still sitting in the yard. The problem is Levi's wants an arm and a leg for anything even though they got it for free. I wouldn't be surprised if they want several thousand dollars for it.

We have a guy like that in Concord NH.

He is loaded with X-Military trucks. Corbitt, M5-6, M-211, one of those early '50's Aluminum a6 wheel COE fire USAF fire trucks. Problem is when you ask if he wants to sell it he starts giving you the "well you know it is real worth big money"... mean while the poor truck sits there with 4 inch tree growing up through the floor and going out one of the open door windows.

It will all be scrapped when the guy dies....Lost history
