Yes Doc, the tranny. Loss of all drive power during a gear shift. Lots of whirring bits....but no drive. So it had to come out. It happened at our annual Overlord show in June this year. Its the 514th again...........and another bit of living history. Turned out to be the clutch centre plate disintegrated. With a little help from one of the groups 4 half tracks, a chain block and a ready supply of tea, it was all done and dusted in the field.

Glad you could repair it. Great demonstration at a show. Thats what I love about large trucks. Grandmothers trailer their Jeeps to shows here but the real men drive their trucks.

People here in the states are shocked to disbelief when they ask how we haul it and we tell them "She got us here and she's gotta get us home too".

Gives new meaning to "keep em rolling"

I remember pulling the transmission for Betty Boop. I lay the windshield down and used a 4x4 oak board and chain hoist. What a job for one old man to do, but the wheels had to keep rolling.
