When my wife (2nd) and I were married in 2000, I drove the CCKW from the barn to the house (800 ft) in my suit, my sons drove up in the M151 and my wife was driven up by her sone driving the GPW...

HI TO ALL OUT THERE........
BILL ASKED ME TO PUT THE STORY BEHIND THIS WEEKS PICTURE...
WELL HERE GOES..I,VE HAD THE CCKW SINCE OCT 2005 AND RESTORED HER TO HER NOW CONDITION,AFTER WORKING FULL TIME AT WORK AND THEN ON MY PRIDE AND JOY IN THE EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS(AS WE ALL DO I'M SURE).WELL AFTER MORE THAN 7MONTHS OF THIS AND NOT MUCH TIME FOR MY WIFE TO BE WHO WAS BY NOW ORGANISING ALL THE WEDDING BY HERSELF AND ONLY A MONTH TO GO TO OUR BIG DAY ... "WHAT ABOUT THE CARS" SOME ONE ADDED WELL WHAT COULD I SAY ?????? IT HAD TO BE MY TURN TO ORGANISE SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!.... WELL I DONT LIKE MODERN, POSH OR CARS LIKE THAT.... SO IT HAD TO BE WHAT YOU SEE...
YES MY CCKW TOOK MYSELF, BEST MAN AND THE USHERS TO THE CHURCH, AND THE COMMAND CAR TOOK MY BRIDE TO BE AND HER FATHER..... WELL AS THEY ALL SAID AND NOBODY KNEW ABOUT THIS "ONLY I WOULD HAVE THIS IN OUR FAMILY"
WELL ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE MILITARY VEHICLES SO IT HAD TO BE DONE.... THIS ALL HAPPENED ON 5TH AUGUST THIS YEAR AND MANY THANKS FOR YOUR KIND COMMENTS.... KEVIN AND MARIA AND OUR CCKW "REE"... TO FINISH OFF MY CCKW EVEN TOOK US ON HONEYMOON .... WHICH WE ALL WENT YES INCLUDING OUR 5 CHILDREN TO PAS DE CALAIS LIBERATION CELEBRATIONS WHICH WE ATTEND EVERY YEAR...

Great story Thanks for sharing it with us. I like the use of both US and European fuel cans on your CCKW.

thanks armydriver you cant see it in the photo but i also have an original 43 german fuel can.... they would have used what ever they could get their hands on
