Hi,

Great photo! The question was raised on half doors for an open cab. I took a pair of worn out full door with shot windows and cut the canvas off right above the mid-section horizontal metal frame. Then I had canvas sewn ( at the cut ) to create a finished seam. They look great and work wonderfully especially in cold weather.

Nice truck, but it is winter here in the UK. Note the UK registration, large mirror mounted on the right front, and of course it is parked on 'our' side of the road too.

We have lots of regulations round here about trailers and trailer brakes. We don't really like electric brakes, preferring air brakes or even over-run brakes. I'd guess this trailer was air braked originally, or they have been added ( or he just dragged it out on the road carefully while no Police were around for the photo )

In the UK pretty much anybody could drive this rig if it was unloaded and the trailer brakes worked, but if you had the smaller Chev with a semi-trailer you need the special license for an 'articulated vehicle' You could put the Chev semi-trailer on a dolly, and tow the lot with the Chev tractor as a full trailer, and it would be legal ....

Most of my trailers come under the 750 Kg / 3/4 ton limit for unbraked trailers here, but I am going to use electric brakes on the Nolan as it is a 2 ton unit. I'll have to modify the controller position and so on to make it legal here, and still wont be able to load it up ( legally - anyway)

As if 10 military NDT tires is not enough to maintain! Now you have 18.

But I sure do want one of thoe trailers and a dolly. Just a great combination.
