I don't recall ever seeing a closed cab tipper
Very nice
WOW and those "directional" tires on the front...wouldn't it be nice to locate a boatload of those

Thanks
John

It is my last purchase. It appears to have very few mil. Original gray paint are still on the engine. On the old Norwegian papers, it is a 42, but I rather believe that there may be a 45.
Everything works on it.

The closed cab would be correct for '42
Could you post the frame number? if you already haven't done so.

Cheers

I'm thinking the number should read CCKW 353 499490 H1
Does anybody else agree ?
Cat Man's tipper is just a few vehicles apart :D
You're right the serial number would indeed make it a '45

No.... your truck probably got it's closed cab during a "re-build " but the H1 in your ser.# means it originally was a "Tipper" also
Obviuosly the closed cab was a desirable "option" given the location of it's next intended service
Check on the home page for Bryce Sunderlin's reprinted articles from Army Motors concerning the "changes" that occured during the CCKW's build cycle ( very interesting read )
IIRC the closed cabs were phased out during the late '42 or early '43 build years

Hope this helps

Mikael,
There has been some discussion on another forum about "directional" aka "chevron" tires.
Stocks have since been long gone here stateside, are they avail anywhere "new" in your vacinity ?

Thanks

Tires with directional patterns can still be found in 7.50-20. They are mfc today for agricultural machines and other heavy machines. Probably the thing to use if one wants good offroad performance in a cckw....
