An interesting mix of equipment.

A wood bodied SWB with set 7. I wonder if this was the way it came from the states or was a post war refit?

I seem to remember that they had wooden bodies on some and that there were the two winches behind the cab. Th winches ran the hook up and down and the other ran the trolley back and forth.

They also came with a narrow gauge RR track set and a cart to run on it that the large bombs were carried to the bomber under the plane

Doc....I believe you have your sets crossed....LOL

The set 7 was the little manual job that was kind of a pseudo wrecker. It had a sliding trolley and manual chain-fall.

Pictured below from the Marshall Museum.

I believe the one you are referring to is the M27 Bomb truck that had the full length beam with double sliding trolleys and was dual winch controlled.

the set 7 was sold when we bought the truck,(the guy was going to part out the truck if it did not sell fast) no idea if it came from the factory like this or that the french army did the refit, but its stil a beauty.

There was some discussion previously on the board as to whether the set 7 was factory installed on the SWB. That is why I brought it up.

yes I have readed that discussion, but if I remember correctly there was a SWB gmc some time ago in the US also with a set 7 (dont remember howe the owner was), and it was no euro return,
