Ever wonder where the manuals for the special bodied CCKWs are?
They were issued separate from the TM by the agency having responsibility for the for the issue of the special equipment.
The CCKW with the 105CFM LeROI was an Engineers vehicle, and that will answer a previous question of them not being available in tactical operations where air was needed to inflate convoy tires. The Manual for the air Compressor Equipment was TM5-9060, and was issued with the truck.
The CCKW with the F-3 750 Gallon Airfield Fuel Fuel Servicing Body was USAAF(later USAF) Responsibility), and was for issue to Army Air Forces. The Air Force is governed by the T.O (Technical Order or Tech order to Veterans) The T.O. for the F-3 Fuel Tanker is T.O. 19-25-47. (I wonder if the switch for the Spot Light on top near the hatch was Explosion Proof?) Remember, "NO SMOKING WITHIN 50 FEET".
Before you get real smart and ask why the CCKW with the Dump Body did not have an Engineers TM5 Manual assigned to it? The answer is that the Nomenclature is Truck, CARGO DUMP, and it was Ordnance Responsibility, and is in the TM9-801.
TM9-801 was still the Bible for the Chassis on all CCKWs, there were Photographic Vans, Signal Vans, Shop Vans,Instrument Vans, etc. These all had specific TMs/T.O.s for what was carried inside.
Another tidbit from Old GI-Joe here. Much more to come.

I have the manual for the 105cfm LeRoi compressor but I'd like to find one for the 210cfm which is what I have.
Anyone know why they fitted two sizes of compressor to the CCKW? did the larger units have a specific role?
Matt.

Most likely answer is that they found that the 210 was more suitable, it also allowed more efficient use as it would have a shorter recovery time while air tools were being operated.
