Those valve caps that are used to remove the valve stem are called Fork Tip Valve Caps. Gee what one can learn on this post. I love the Factoid post. CCKW trivia. :D

Ordnance Part No. 520944 would get you a box of 5 Schraeder CAP, tire valve, Screwdriver Type for your CCKW, Jeep. The forked end is for inserting/removing valve cores. They bring Big Bucks at Antique Car Flea Markets if they are NOS in the box. I have been saving these off NOS WWII Surplus inner tubes. It took a while to outfit two Jeeps, 3 Trailers, and 15 CCKW wheels. Black painted brass seems to be the WWII Color. They also furnish a second air tight seal along with keeping out water and dirt.

And they are universal to most automobiles and commercial trucks the world over, except for larger valves on construction machinery.
The same Tire Valve Cap from your CCKW would even would even fit Hitlers staff car.

There are short and long reach versions, it had to do with whether the stem was rubber coated or not. The army did distinguish between the two.
The Army taught me well.

Check out eBay and see what NOS boxes (5 packs) of Schraeder Screwdriver Valve Caps are going for. $25.00 is not unheard of.
