On the upper Left side of the fire wall by the hood is about a 1/2" wide tag x 3" long rivited to the firewall. I was able to get the paint off and the numbers are as follows. I6I9-293I63. Any ideas on what this tag means? Is this the body production number tag?
Once again thanks for the help. And I did find a Lake City Arsenal 1953 dated spent garand casing in the floor of the cab behind the passenger seat frame. Thought that was neat.
ATW,
Doc Britton.

It is really neat when some old item is found in your truck. In 1955 I bought my first vehicle. It was a 1945 MB and when I took the gas tank out I found a pair of sterling silver pin back captains bars. I still have them even though the jeep has been gone a long time now.

Cab number and Serial Number
Hi,
I understand that the #1619 is the cab style number; however, is the serial number that of the cab style (1619) or should it be the same number as the frame number of the CCKW?
Thanks,
Lee
