CCKW WINTER WARM UP

It still pays to leave the manifold heat control valve in the summer position, it only takes about 3 minutes extra to compensate for it. Your manifold will not be as prone to crackng if left in summer position.

It's funny how tidbits of info like that make an impression. I was showing pictures of my restored CCKW to a WWII vet and he really enjoyed them. He then looked at me with a serious look and asked, "you ARE doing the proper maintenece aren't you? Checking the fluids and filters?" He then said he had a tip for me and stated he always left his CCKW in WWII on the summer setting for the manifold heat control valve too.
