But could somebody help with a original key or a

Are those Delco? It is hard to tell. There are plenty of Repro H-700 Keys out there. I Have some NOS H-700s. I can copy one if there are any original blanks out there. A few years ago there were some Delco NOS Key Type Cylinders available from MVPA old timers. The Army had a kit to retrofit the Keyed Cylinders with cylinders without handles.

In early 42 the key switches were done away with, some could be converted(Delcos) others existing on the many brands of trucks were changed , or converted with kits. It was not unusual for surplus vehicles to make it thru stateside WWII with a Key switch. That is how I gained my supply of MB and GPW keyed switches. I also removed some from Post War Surplus Beiderman, and Brockway USAAF surplus 6X6 Fire trucks, it was apparant that not all complied, but all Combat Trucks from early 42, on had keyless ignition switches. I sold a GPW Keyed Switch overseas last year for $200.00.

The Repro Switches available today are just that, and you will not find any with parts that can be converted. None represent Delco, they are more or less generic. But it is agood thing for us that they are available.

These switches are guaranteed original GMC CCKW353 take-offs and made by Delco Remy! The H-700 key doesnt fit, already tried that

ignition switches

Post by lendlease »

Why does your ignition switch have 3 terminals? My NOS and used ones here have 2 terminals.....you only need 1 power in wire and 1 power out wire to operate an ON/OFF switch. Any ideas?

For whatever reason, the Ward LaFrance and Brockway 6X6 types had 3 terminal Delco Ignition Switches. I do not have the Manuals to research the Wires as they used AAF manuals that I do not have. It may have had something to do with the Series Parallel switches.

They could be replacements, but they are definatly cckw353
takeoffs. I know the leverswitch has 2 terminals, but then this is
a nice subject to find out why these key switches have 3 terminals
and why I found them in those cckws if they are not original cckw.

The Switch with Keys were used on CCKW and CCKWX trucks prior to Chassis numbers 41181, all 1941 models. A check of the Wiring Diagrams for all TM 10s starting with TM10-1105 for the CCKWX, and TM9-801 clearly illustrate that the CCKW and CCKWX all used a switch with two terminals. I even show the CCKW switch fittinf the Chev 4X4 the M-5 High Speed Tractor, the M-24 Tank, and some of the Wartime Civilian 4X2 Trucks using Delco systems.. What most likely has happened is that the switches with the 3 terminals most likely are replacements. The 1950s Dated SNLs show the part number for the Two terminal Switch.

Post War European CCKWS are commonly found with mixed parts, the result of 60 years of post war maintenance.

oké confirmed Joel  , it is a replacementpart.

But Iam still looking for someone who could
help me with keys for this kind of switch because its very nice, only to
bad that they are not original cckw part. But they are good replacement,
for the leverswitch in my own cckw.
