Hello to the masses
Still ongoing with this trailer restoration,as previously mentioned Its missing a few bits !! but there again most ex military people are too.!!! Back to the trailer .....I need if any one has some ,photos or ANY information on the jockey wheel arrangement on these trailers,I believe it very different from the Ben Hur type in so much that it winds up/down on a screw threaded leg, that pivots back when the weight is off.It is this pivot/ hinge/ bit that some information /photos is requested,as I plan to try to re make or re adapt if only I can find out how it looks and works.........ANY help would be much appreciated as the rest of it isnt going to bad, but the front end is getting difficult and I really would like finish it this spring ,so I can tow it this season..........Regards Erb

I will be receiving an A-3 trailer sometime this month, if all goes as planed. Once I have it in my possession, I can provide you with better images of the landing leg assembly off of my trailer. In the mean time, here are photos from the gent I'm getting it from.

I pulled the trailer home today. What specific pictures would you like?

Re: TRAILERS FUEL SERVICE 600 Gal TYPEs A-1, A-1A
Thank you for getting back,I expect your fun really starts now with your restoration
If you could, I need a general view of the landing leg arrangement, plus some close up ones of the wheel yoke (I have the wheel)
the leg that I believe has a screw threaded arrangement to raise and lower the wheel, and the top assembly that crosse the A frame and supports the leg and pivots back and locks up(
) how
this area is a real blank to me as I only have the black un white illustrations from a TM9-2800 to go by at the moment
So ANY photos that you can kindly provide will be of immeasurable help to me it trying to fabricate these parts as accurately as I can.Thank you again for your time .Regards Erb

Erb:
I put a bunch of photos of my tanker landing leg up here:
http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/showgal ... p?cat=4180
These will get you started understanding what you need to make/fabricate. Let me know what other views you need.
Can you post pictures of your A-1? It would be nice to see it as well.

Do you have any photos yet? The tire and rim on my landing leg was a 6.00-6 aircraft tire and two-piece rim. Does your trailer have a different nose wheel?
