There is nothing like a landing gear with the rubber tire for your G-518 1 Ton Trailer, and also the Water Trailer. It eliminates the "crunchy" sound.

landing gear
I heard the the tire landing gear was the early model than the steel one. Is that correct? If yes, ehen did they changed to steel weels?
My Ben Hur has a dataplate on it (Idon't know if it's the one that was originally on it) dated 1943. And I have the tire landing gear. I wonder if it correspond with the date.

That is hard to tell, as there were at least 25 known manufacturers, and I have had at least 3 versions of steel wheels. I have one steel wheel left, and will trade it for one of the Ben Hur wheels that take a tire plus cash.

I have a NOS Ben Hur Wheel that takes the pneumatic tire that Id be willing to trade for trailer parts or take cash. Sorry, but I already have the steel wheel. PM me if interested.

The wheel is a replacement, originals were riveted together, and used a TR-77 inner tube valve stem that was metal with 90 degree bend.
