They had Rubber Tired Landing Wheel until mid 1942, the need to conserve rubber resulted in the several variations of the steel wheel.

There is nothing like the rubber wheel tho, as it eliminates that "crunchy" sound on concrete floors and gravel pavement.

Do not forget to have your tailgate down when loaded and detached from your vehicle. It may up end when loaded and you get in and crawl around. The tailgate is a safety feature.
