Hi Kevin
Your ser # 102520 could not have been del on 02/42 its to high, Your ser number is early July of 42. The month starts out with ser # 101618 thru 115621. Yours would have been the 902th truck from the begining of July probably the first weeks production, they produced 14,003 trucks for the month

many thanks guys that helps a bit but the early one 102520 clearly states dod 2 -42 which is a st6 workshop could this have been built earlier? also my 369984 has a hard cab and being built in 44 you would expect it should have been an open cab... i know many were built in the field so probably the cab was retro fitted ... amazing what stories these old trucks to tell

HI Kevin
As I said That ser #run was not manufactured untill July of 1942, I would guess its your tag that does not go with your truck. I have a early January 1942 Built truck and my ser # is 71993 a 5 digit ser #, Yours is a 6 digit ser # which did not start untill late June of 1942 starting with 87614 a 5 digit and ending with 101617 a 6 digit. Your 102520 truck would most likely have had a closed cab and your 369984 would have been a open cab. Alot of things have happened to these old trucks over the years your two being a good example
