Hi
Hope somebody can help. The brake pedal on my GMC has gone hard and only by pressing very very hard will it just about stop.
I am told that it is the hydrovac but before I take it apart thought it best to ask. If it is the hydrovac is a repair kit from Rex Ward the way to go.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: GMC Brakes
If the truck is not dragging brakes and you get some stopping action from the pedal, the problem is the booster

Re: GMC Brakes
Thanks for the replys. The brakes are not draging at all and there is some brake when you really push it hard and you can hear the engine changing note as you do this. Now how good is the repair kit for the hydrovac, is this an option or is it a new hydrovac.
Thanks again
Roger

Re: GMC Brakes
Before taking off the hydrovac cylinder, it might just be worth checking the one way valve, between manifold and pipe that runs to hydrovac, it might have become clogged or rubber come off valve seat.
