Marking on my cargo bed

Post by Nick Bombini »

Ok, as I was sanding the bed down to paint it, I came across some numbers. I had already sanded too many of the #s off of the right side of the bed so I stopped in that spot and sanded the rest. Once I was finished, I went to the other side and started to hand sand in the same location and found the #s. What are they?

Can someone possibly tell me the rest of the #s? It seems like the #s were painted onto the primer before the first coat of OD went on. Looks factory to me.

Here is the right side primed except for the spot that I first found the #s.

I do what I can after school so today I sanded and primed the right side of the bed since it was an early out day :P.

I meant to reply to this, but it was entered as a new topic. Please check it out. Save the numbers you found it will show up someday. It is just the Ordnance Part Number for your body which is later than you may think

Great find. It is always special to find any old markings on any part of your vehicle. You were smart in photographing the numbers and where they were found. Good luck as it looks like you are doing a great job of restoration.
