CCKW 25 AMP VOLTAGE REGULATOR
If your CCKW is so equipped, the POSIVITIVE + Terminal on the Battery will be connected to the Ground Cable which goes to the Chassis,and the NEGATIVE - Terminal will be connected to the Starter. All CCKW 25 Amp Voltage Regulators will be NEGATIVE EARTH.

BEWARE, some CCKW Generators offered on eBay as NOS are for the 25 Amp system. Those selling them are not misreprsenting them intentionally, they just do not have the proper background and asssume they will fit any CCKW system. Some times cheap NOS is not worth it. Buy from a specialist, it may cost more, but you will be better off.

The 1118468 (40 Amp NEG (-)EARTH) is a now rare bird as it was not installed on new CCKWs after October 1944, and that means that any NOS left would be existing Spares. These bring big Bucks when Found NOS. I have two one on my truck and a spare. The later Rectangular 1118502 is more common I have those NOS also. You have good taste. They were also used on International Harvester wartime trucks, and were subject to the same production change, same Date.

NOS WWII Delco Generators will be very hard to find. There are French NOS 40Amp Generators, I have them, but they are of French Manufacture.

Yes I got it Backwards on the post about 40Amp GM 1118468 Regulator 40Amp is Neg ground. I will change it.
