Transmision shifting tower swap ?
At the moment I have in my Chevy 1.5 ton a transmision with a very loose shifting lever. I recently bought a parts truck with a nice tight tranny. My thoughts are to swap the shifting towers. I don't think this will be a big deal but my question is this, " is there a particular gear position that the tranny should be in as opposed to another to simplify the swap?" Thanks.

Put tranny in neutral
Chev is an easy swap. Make sure you get it clean on top before loosening any bolts. Some are also different lengths as I recall.
