Radiator Tank?
Next to the engine on the passenger side of my truck, is a square tank. It is fed from the radiator. I can't find any reference to it in TM 9-801.
Is this a coolant storage tank? Does this serve any other purpose?
Neil

Probably part of the primer system
Notice also the additional "tap" on top of the radiator tank
Without being able to examine the entire pump hook-up and how the pump itself was plumbed ,I can only guess that those "extra" items are indeed part of that system
Do you understand how your pump works especially in a "draft" situation ?

Thanks, to an old "Sage"John V Cliche wrote: CCKW were not built with coolant surge tanks in other applications

However, Neil..this particular "tank" looks different
Hope this helps

Rad tank
Hi SpookyDad:
While I can't shed any light on what your extra tank is for, up here in the Great White North we have pump heating gear that runs off our rads and tank warming gear that basically routes the exhaust gases through extra tubing in the water tank... gets kinda cold up here in the winter and the water can get right stiff!
Don't imagine that happens in sunny Texas!
Cheers! Mike
