Hand Brake Drum Hand Overheated in Released Position.

I would like to know if hand brake drum should be hand overheated,when it is in released position. :lol:

The adjustment of the hand brake linkage is VERY important there are 3 points of adjustment at the lining.
Improper adjustment could cause the lining to rub even when the handle is in the released position.
The process is clearly outlined in your TM :) manual I suggest you follow those directions

adjustment is surprisingly critical.

Mine was out by only a few thou, and would not hold 100% even with the brake fully on.

I had originally adjusted it a bit looser than specified, cause I had been told that there is a tendency for them to burn up very easily.

I have now adjusted as per specifications, using feeler gauges, and it works as it should.

I have not ascertained how hot it gets after a long drive as yet.
