And also noticed that the dump body is slightly different from those "normal" dump boies. It is missing one of the "stiffeners" on the side. It looks more like the bodies in Wheels & Tracks No 64 page 29 up in the right corner, used on civilian dumpers produced by Gallion. Can this be a very early dump body put on a 352??

That last "tipper" body was not made for a 6 wheeler, (cutout only for one wheel) It looks like the bodies that where built for the GS version of the Ford GTB , I think they were built by Heil.
Somewhere I remember an article in Army Motors on GMC Tippers and they were all (bar the prototype/s) Tropical Cabbed LWB, however that would not include any post war or unit mods replacing tropical cabs with closed cabs.
The NZ Army used a home made Bathtub (u shaped) postwar bodied Tippers for many years after the war.
Also there was a gent by the name of GT Gillies who purchased all of the surplused Jimmys in NZ after the war and sold them of to the public at a tidy profit. However he kept all of the Tippers (tropical cabs) for use in his Limestone Quarry when they died he apparent would chop of the cab, engine, front wheels, etc and bend in the Chassis rails to create a tipping trailer to tow behind another Jimmy
All the best for the weekend
