This can be an easy fix for those who have tightened the Compression Fitting Nut at the Elbow, and still have a drip. The Compression Sleeve (Ferrule) is the culprit, as it is worn from overtightening. I used a "knife edge" file and very carefully made a cut across the ferrule and very carefully pried it off. A new Elbow complete with the nut and sleeve, Weatherhead Part No, 69X5 was purchased at my Weatherhead Dealer. It comes with a Nut and Compression Sleeve (ferrule). The Elbow is for 5/16" tubing and has a Male 1/8" Pipe thread where it enters the Carburetor. For those who wish to purchase just the sleeve or the nut only, the Weatherhead Part No. for the sleeve is 60X5. I chose his type of repair in order to preserve the original factory steel fuel line which was in good condition. No more drip, and my engine compartment remains clean enough to eat from-I used to do that in convoys many decades past, when I heated a lot of ration cans on the top of a 6X6 manifold.
I learned to do this stuff in the U.S. Army, and I must say I was quite good at it, the Army thought so too and rewarded me.
