Several years back, when restoring my CCKW, while completely going thru the cooling system, I went to replace the thermostat and the old one was dated 8-44! It was still working at the time but I decided to replace it to be on the safe side. But I kept it in memory of "a job well done"! How many modern parts would have lasted 60+ years!!!
You have that part right. Military specs then far exceeded what was needed. I have the WWII coil out of Betty Boop that I replaced with a new one and it was stilol working. Again saved for display now.
