Wanted K-19 (G-517) or K-35/65

I am looking for a K-19 trailer. Condition does not matter. I would be happly with parts, axle, frame, etc. I would also settle for drawing that could be used to repro one. I would take a K-35/65 trailer as a second choice.

yeh I been reasearching the K-list for a coupla years now, and havent found any surviving examples, and next to nothing on the scr-197
I suppose you could get the manual from lib. of cong. but I dought
it says very much about the vehicles.
I havent even been able to find anything on the coe gmc. no year, nothing,

Brian,

Thanks for the replies. You have run into the same conclusion that I have in that no K-19's have survived. I still believe I can reproduce one using the axle from a dual wheel fuel tanker. I am now looking for any pictures showing the K-19. I have also run into dead-ends with the original builders since they are no longer around.

although the manual picture of this, shows typewritters at each station.
still havent found a picture of the transmitter.

Since you are building a non-original look alike I would just get a modern Dexter dually axle with electric brakes and go that route. Parts are readily available and it should survive the 30 foot test.

Or, if you want use a 1.5 ton M-series trailer axle. It is made for Budd wheels
This axle has hyd brakes I believe and you could install the vacuum brake set up from that era if the host has a booster of any kind.

Did the original have brakes?

the K-19 trailer is a single axil with dulys, and electric brakes.
net wt. - 5,385 lbs.
tires are 7.00 X 20
the front, and back, angle back, I would think that might be a hassle to
repop, and its a 4 door.

I think the k-35/k-65 with its straight box sides, and only 2 doors would be easier.
