Post by gmcvert »

Hi, i buy a headliner for my CCKW Close cab. this headliner is made with a black fiberboard. My question is: how to form it? without breaking it.

The originals were bent/formed over a buck/ pattern using water ,a few careful diagonal slices ,glue, and tape,( all these from the back and hidden.
I tried and ruined about 4 of the cardboard ones :( , then I purchased a fiberglass one from Jim Carter Truck parts , a little fitting/trimming ,a few holes, some paint, and Voila ! Finis.

Hope this helps

in fact it's hard to take in place this headliner. i think, this headliner must be wet. With water and wood glue.

I saw the results and I'll do the same. You can reach the JCP website at this address: http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/cgi/htmlos.exe/start.htm

I have wondered if you could take a junk truck and cut the cab roof off and "mold" the wet cardboard to the inside with the roof section facing up.
