Tires and Driveline Situations.

Post by Fernando Mendes »

Dr.Deuce wrote an article about this subject in 2005.I red and have a doubt about when we bought only 4 new tires.Puting 2 of them on the front and the other 2?? Where is the correct?? I didn't understand. :?:
*Options:1)On one side(R or L) and outside position(Intermediate and rear axle each)?
2)Two on the same hub(R or L),intermediate or rear axle)?

The 4 new ones on the outside in the rear.
Smaller tires inside.
Whatever on the front

DON'T ROTATE

When you can afford more new tires, put the new-new ones on the outside in the rear and move the old-new tires to the inside.

Just keep throwing tires at the front as necessary

Fronts last 3-4,000 miles

Rears last ~30,000 miles

Don't put them on the front. Remember that the rears are in 8WD all the time.

As far as drive line wear and binding, the fronts matter only when in 10WD.

If you put two new ones on one side (one each axle), you may be balancing out the binding but the spider gears will be moving all the time.

Hope this helps

You need to measure the circumfrence of all the tires so that you know what you have and can place them correctly.

Also add the rest of those axle bolts!
