Yeah me again

Since putting the carb back onto the manifold, I am having no smooth tickover and having to keep blipping the throttle to her going.

No I didn't repalce the carb gaskets and I reckon she is running weak and is struggling at low revs to pull enough petrol through.

Could somone confirm........

When removing the carburator you should always re-place the gaskets and never use the liquid gasket stuff. Pull the bolts down snug, but don't over do it with a lot of torque on those nuts.
I find that on my truck that it takes more RPM when cold to keep her running, then after she warms up she will run at a lower idle speed. I use the hand throttle to give her more juice on a cold start and after she warms up a little push the throttle in all the way and she will normally idle without any problems.

That is great thanks for that!

I ran some super glue a long the outside of the gasket last night to see if it would seal it and it did, it is ticking over a lot better now so that experiment is telling me that I need to replace the gasket!

I have been driving her to the office all week so I am just starting to get used to all of those noises..............reminds me of my first landrover that I had :shock:

I find that 21 inches of manifold pressure @ 2000RPM is a good setting for take off, it results in a good straght takeoff without having to correct for torque.

I wish I could drive my truck to work, but 80 miles per day on the interstate would be a killer trip for an old man. :lol:
