Engine block No.'s

Post by Craig »

Does anyone out there have or know of any references for engine block no's or engine casting no's? I have a 1942 Chevy G506 with engine no.TI6I7438 and casting no. GM 838710/12. I would like to know if this engine is original to the truck?
