That's what a guy said thay were What i saw were holes in the tailgate that when it was lowerd the taillights showed.Thay had a cover that blocket the hole with tailgate up. Was this a ww2 cckw tailgate or some M series unit
The Danish Army modified the taillights on many of their CCKWs to hang below the angled panel of the Steel Cargo Body. They then modified the Tailgate by cutting a 6 1/2" hole in each ot the outer panels of the Tailgate. This allowed the tail lights to be visable with the tailgate lowered.

On the truck i saw the taillights were in the orginal location. That put the hole almost center tailgate. The covers had one bolt that thay piveted on like the peep hole at a speekeasy.Thats another story!
