U.S. CONSTABULARY MARKINGS FOR YOUR CCKW

Post by joel gopan »

The US Constabulary was formed under the command of General Harmon ti establish law and order in occupied Germany and parts of europe. Their wheeled vehicles consisted mostly of Jeeps, WC, 3/4 and 1 1/2 ton, CCKWs, and M-8/M-20 armored Cars. Most all vehicles were Dark Gloss OD wirg White trim and the letter"C" inside a white circle, thus the moniker "Circle C Cowboys". They lasted into the 50s, and a CCKW would look sharp with their color and markings. The Constabulary had mich the same problems as todats' occupying forces in Iraq, as there were diehard Nazis, contraband, and lawlesness among the defeated Germans.
I cannot find my books and photos on the Constabulary, maybe someone will help carry this topic.
