After WW2 and when the CCKW's were stripped down and 'reconditioned', how far did they go? Did they pull everything everything and replaced with new?
Also, I ws told that during WW2, when the CCKW engine had clocked up 10,000 miles it was taken out and replaced with a recon, regardless of what condition it was in - fact or fiction?
Cheers.
Jack.

10.000 miles
From one of my books : "According to standards issued by the Ordnance Corps, a GMC engine was designed to last 10.000 miles. Having travelled this distance, a motor would be completely dismantled and rebuilt"
