WWII HBT COVERALLS

They were worn by Ordnance Personnel, and Motorpool Mechanics. They would be the ideal parade and display uniform for a WWII driver.

Someone must repro them. They would be excellent dress while driving your CCKW in a parade. I would even wear my dogtags.

After some washing the coveralls gets that worn an brigth shade apperance, along with a well used, and stainded m41 it looks quite original

I have a pair dated 1943 in my uniform collection that are really small. They have some neat oil spots on them near the pockets. I sometimes display them along with other relavent things. I found them at a local flea market.

Flea market finds are nice, but the enjoyment of wearing these WWII Coveralls may involve shelling out a few bucks in order to get the proper size, and the true collector will not mind this.

They sure would look nice to wear while driving my CCKW on Memorial Day.They are a reminder of the old "Brown Boot Army" When I took Basic, they issued brown Combat Boots with a pack of Black Dye, We had to use GI Soap and a GI scrub brush to prepare them for the black dye. The boots came out almost OK, and they would take a "spit shine". Brown Boots went out around 58-59, the Ike Jacket in early 61. The last Pigeoneer was retired at Ft Monmouth in the fall of 1960.

Not a matter of shelling out the cash, just a matter of finding originals for displays. I don't dress up in a uniform, as that is for the younger guys. I wear my shorts or jeans and my CCKW Org golf shirt with an appropiate cap. Well dressed, is what I say, with CCKW.Org apparal . It attracts the eye pf young and old.
