Your tipper would be delivered in mid november 1944.
Any photos?

Hi Rolf,
Thanks for this information.
Actually there is not a lot left from the tipper. The truck has been fitted with a cargo bed and all tipper specific parts have been removed. A perkins Diesel engine has been installed. I bought this truck to save it from the scrap merchant. Will see if I can have it running again…If not it will probably be a source of parts for my other trucks

It would be nice for all of us collectors, had General Motors or whomever was in charge actually dated the day of delivery of the vehicle, rather than just the month and year on the data plate. Jeeps had month, day and year on their data plate along with the serial number.
Of course if you don't have the original data plate, then even that practice would have not helped.
Good luck with your truck Thierryb.

I have found that in some cases, the manufacture of the tipper rolling chassis may not coincide with the actual delivery date of the vehicle to the Army. In some cases months go by from the date of manufacture until the DOD date on the data plate is noted as delivered.
I feel that the trucks were either waiting on the dump beds or the lifting mechanism to complete the trucks.
I hope you get her completed as tippers are not as plentiful as the cargo version of the truck today.
