Additionnal brake lights switch

I would like to set an additionnal brake lights switch on my CCKW to increment security. I saw this article from Dr Deuce on the website. ( http://www.cckw.org/6_to_12_volt.htm )

My 2 cents.

You should be able to use any type of mechanical brake light switch. My preference would be a Motorcycle brake light switch as it would survive the elements of Road weather.

Here is a link to a US supplier of aftermarket motorcycle parts. This type should be available from Motorcycle dealers worldwide. The only issue would be making a bracket.

Do you use a push or pull switch?

Is that this type?

That is it.

The circuit is completed when the brake pedal pulls on the spring.

As I said a bracket is the only real issue with this switch.

I use the 1957 Chev pickup switch because it is rated for dual stop lights and possibly a trailer.

A motorcycle switch is rated for one stop light and probably no trailer

The Chev switch is made for pedals thru the floor. I can take some measurements of the 2 mounting hole location.

The advantage of either is that the minute you step on the pedal, the stop lights come on. This is how all modern vehicles work so it gives the maximum amount of warning to the people behind you.
