electric braking once more HELP!!!!!!!

Hi guys
where here once more, I have been unable to find Electric Brake controller, so what else could i use please ?????

You running 6v or 12v?

The original is a giant, high wattage variable resistor using multiple metal strips. The modern ones are all electronic and run on 12v

12v is easier. You could use a modern controller and wire the wheel magnets in series per axle. The US standard for a recreational vehicles is about 3 amps per wheel (6 amps per axle).

6v is a bit harder with modern stuff. You would probably need something custom.

Im running on 12v (alternator)
will have to locate controller stateside if you know a good store i'd be grateful.
having trouble this side as it seems that nobody is interested or does n't know what im on about

Which trailer(s) are you running/towing

A modern RV brake controller runs about $80 over here

In my opinion this one is the best. it is digital but can be hidden. It is what I am using on my personal vehicle.

I just measured my M5 Bomb Trailer brake line with a not too expensive ohm meter and came up with about 3.3 ohms for the two electric brakes in series (wired for 12v).

That calculates out to about 7.5 amps for 2 axles with 4 brakes wired in a series per axles with the axles wired in parallel. So a 10 amp breaker with the controller (capable of 30 amps) Bill mentioned would be fine on 12v.

If you are planning on running directional lights along with the electric brakes and the original WWii 4 pin trailer connector:

Ground
Running Lights
Right Stop/Directional
Left Stop/Directional
Electric Brake

Cheeck this out: http://www.cckw.org/pdf/t261b_controller.pdf . The dash load control can be found at Gary's Halftracks. The stearing column unit appears from time to time on auction sites such as ebay. You need both controllers to make the system work properly.
