Looks alot like the roads around my hometown last month.
We received 13 inches in a twenty four hour period; 7 of those inches were in a 2 1/2 hour period! Hardest rain I'd seen since moving away from the Gulf Coast back in '69.
Great looking CCKW!

Come on Old Lady lets go swimming.
Great photo.
We need rain down here. We are in the middle of a drought after the rainest year on record in San Antonio.
Must be global warming. I know I am doing my part to promote it.

military vehicle wading
Well the water was deeper than normal at this ford site, and was over the tires at the deepest. But I never needed to lock in the front axle and went through in second gear with no problems. The brakes were alittle "progressive" on leaving the water but dried out very quickly and were back to normal. I then drove her home the 40 miles from Ft Bragg with no issues or problems.
I greased all driveline fittings and checked for water in the differentials, no worries.
And guys I hate to point this out but these are military vehicles..... And are designed for use in much worse conditions, off road use with heavy loads and alot less love and care than they receive now. They are not made of glass and wont break if you take them off the parade route. And it will give you an idea of what these vehicles are capable of and how they did their part for the war effort under some actual combat like conditions.
And more than likely you will learn more about how to operate your CCKW correctly than you can ever gleen from reading your manual again.
And you may just have some fun in the process!
