I would like to estimate the manufacturing date of my truck. The frame number is CCKW 73186 - B1. It's a closed cab, split axles, no winch, cargo body. (Note that B1 would say it HAS a winch, but it don't).
I think it's from early 1942. I would like to know about wich month. can anybody help me?
Note: I probably don't have the original grid, black-out light, etc... mounted on it, so it cannot help me.

My serial number is listed in the Emile BECKER book. I don't know how he got it as I had to scrap the paint to find it on my truck.
Number is 82028352. Becker only says it's from 1944.
Thanks

You can get the original build card for any WW2 US built Dodge from Daimler Chrysler, there is a charge (about $25.00) but it's worth it.this will give you the day, month, year your Dodge was built, the military date of delivery that would be on the data plates would be a little later.
I don't have the address to hand but can get it for you.
I will be interested in this address for Daimler Chrysler.
I thank you very much again for the miror arm.

DR.Duce, this one is for you, I have a 41 SWB 352 NO#37051 B1, and I have bought another one that looks exactly like it, only the the markings are cckw X353 NO#7189, and the ongilal title says it was purchased on 8-4 1948 but the titles says it's a 1940, and the titles has a big black stamp acrossed it saying BODY CHANGE, I have been told that the 1940 was still with the civilian front clip, can you explain.
Hi,
Your CCKWX is a 1940 truck.the cab and front end would look basically the same as any closed cab CCKW with some minor detail differences.does it have the round military dials or the civilian style dash?
Matt. I tryed to tell a couple of guys that while I was in Duluth, they said it had to be with the civilian front end, I told them no but the dash did have the civilian dash, thats the only difference I can see. My 41 can be seen on the vehicles of victory site if interested.. hopefully I can get pictures of both truck on this site, as I think this site is the best, if you love the cckw as I do..
I have one NOS 700X20 U.S. Royal Master Grip with flap that was used on the ACKWX and the Pre War GMC 4X4. It has the curved Bars as early Military treads used. It has been stored in a cool dark place for 60 years.

Hi Bob c, mine is the SWB, w/winch, of course with steel top, No. 7189 but the dod is 11-5-41 so I think that is kinda late being delivered, if it was built in 40, I also have the orginal title, when I applyed to the BMV for my new title, I was told by a perosnnel friend that works there, that I could get the orginal title back if I wanted, so of course I did. the title aso shows (model no. AC600 year 1940) don't understand the AC600. let me know what you think.....
Bobc, according to the good Dr. my cckw x353 was built in Dec. of 40, which I was pleased to hear since the titles states it's a 40. Dr, Duce if your reading this, thanks much.
